I often poke fun at Starbucks, calling it an “evil empire.” But as far as evil empires go, I also think they’re one of the best. More on that some other time. The Seattle-based coffee company today took what some consider a bold stance on the (never ending) US gun debate. Basically, they said, “we’re gonna do what we want, so don’t make us a part of your fight.”
From Yahoo News:
The money quote: “Were we to adopt a policy different from local laws allowing open carry, we would be forced to require our partners to ask law abiding customers to leave our stores, putting our partners in an unfair and potentially unsafe position,” the company said in its statement.
It truly keeps with Starbucks’ mission of fostering community involvement to respect and abide by local laws.
Besides, gun owners like coffee too.
